Nigerian Afrobeat musician, Phillip Kayode, known in showbiz as Pheelz, has disclosed the reason he became a music producer to work on songs.
The singer revealed that he started making music without any form of guidance at a very early age due to his eagerness and passion.
This led to a series of mishaps involving the use of his work without permission nor credit of any sort which he termed as ‘getting bitten by the sharks in the industry.’ “You know as a 16-year-old kid jumping into the deep end that early where men are swimming sharks and all that; I got bitten a few times; those were like really crazy times because I had to earn the hard way.” he reiterated.
“Initially I was a writer and an artist before I even became a producer; the reason why I actually learnt how to produce was so I could produce beats for the songs I was writing at that time.” an exciting revelation made by the ‘Electricity’ hitmaker on a 24-hour digital channel segment, Culture Daily.
Pheelz reflected back on the days he was left out of the bounty that came out of his beats behind major songs and could ask himself, “should I go back to school?” but later acknowlegded how far he has come by not giving up, and is glad he did not go back.
