Ghanaian Afropop and Afrofusion artiste, DayOnTheTrack has expressed that one of his reasons for doing music is to upgrade the Ghanaian sound through his kind of music.
He made this known when he was asked why he decided do the genre of music he does, rather than focusing on what most upcoming artistes are seen to be doing.
In an interview with Kula on Y107.9 FM’s ‘Wake N Bake’ show, he stated, “My genre of music especially, Afro fusion is based on Highlife music because I really want to promote the Ghanaian sound. I want to show the identity of the Ghanaian culture through music.”
He shared that this is the reason why most of his songs have that Highlife touch to it.
“I’m also trying to fuse the Highlife genre to most of the songs I work on and so far it’s going well,” he indicated.
The talented artiste mentioned that he is currently working on his album ‘Unread Messages’ as a series. “So it might not come out together as an album.”
DayOnTheTrack revealed that he is the younger brother of of award winning Ghanaian singer and rapper Kwesi Arthur.
