American ‘RnB’ sensation and multifaceted artistes, Kiara Lanier has expressed her desire to educate and initiate a support system to help artistes, predominantly in Africa, become financially empowered.
Having visited Ghana for the first time to celebrate her birthday anniversary and to experience the highly-acclaimed “Detty December” festivities, she disclosed her intentions to rollout out some projects geared at building the capacity of African artistes.
In a recent interview on Ghana’s no.1 urban radio station, Y 107.9 FM’s “Myd Morning Radio Show” with Rev Erskine, she shared, “I’m also starting a series of holistic healing centers across West Africa and bringing it to the State. I also teach musicians how they can get their music on the shows and films. I have a class that I teach and it’s syncyourmusic.com. I’m really passionate about helping other musicians become financially empowered.”
The esync licensing expert from Chicago indicated that her forthcoming project comes as a solution for the lack of direction for artistes to capitalize on some avenues to make revenues for themselves.
“I think the inspiration for this initiative is that as an artiste we don’t get a blueprint of how we can make our works work for us. I didn’t have anyone to teach me or show me my methods to success and so I just wanted to be the support that I wish I had. I also learn from try and error being both an actress and a musician, I found out how there’s another opportunity to have a revenue stream as a musician both in music and in tv,” she disclosed to Rev Erskine.
Kiara indicated that her primary focus for the inauguration of her project will target artistes from Ghana and West Africa before expanding to other parts of the continent.
