Former Managing Director of Cal Bank, Mr. Frank Adu Jnr, has asserted that exploitation mainly of newbies or youth at the workplace is something that will never go away and independence is also never given, hence the youth should fight to take it.
In an interview with Rev Erskine on the Y-Leaderboard Series segment of YFM’s Myd Morning Show, he stated that this period of the Covid-19, is a learning period, thus, young people should learn from whomever they are working with, and try to become better versions of themselves.
“Take from the person whom you’re understudying or working with, the good sides. You work hard, you stay humble, respectful and your time will come”, he said.
According to Mr. Frank, it is just in human nature that people will take advantage of others especially when they are new to a space, therefore one must always expect that and make it a point to grab opportunities, as independence is grabbed or fought for, and not given.
He said, however, that, “You must also be smart as an individual, understand when to make a move if you have to make a move. Humility, as far as I’m concerned, is one of the best attributes you can offer”.
The businessman encouraged that the youth should make it a point to be humble at all times because humility does not mean that one is weak. “You must guard yourself against exploitation and you must also cease the moment when you get it”, Mr. Adu Jnr concluded.
