One of Ghana’s dopest Disc Jockeys, DJ Loft, has acknowledged that joining Ghana’s biggest urban radio station Yfm, has been of a great boost to his career.
Interviewed on eTV Ghana’s Late Nite Celebrity Show with the evergreen Foster Romanus, he stated that being with Yfm has been an amazing turn in his life because sometimes when people want to book him for an event, just the mere fact that he works with YFM gives them enough reason to trust his skill.
“Also, sometimes you can be doing stuff on your own but then you get more leverage from the station. For instance, you do a mix and the station’s website posts it so it gets to more people”, he said.
DJ Loft furthered that Yfm is a big brand and it has taken him places as well as been very beneficial to him as a DJ.
Talking about his mixes, he confessed that a couple of times, people come to him asking if they can have it, however, with the amount of time, work and energy that he puts into it, he cannot and does not give it out for free.
The good news though, is that he does not charge any money to put people’s songs on his playlist.
“We listen to the song and if it’s good, we’ll play it. If I play Usher or Beyoncé’s song, they don’t give me money so why should I take money from my brother in Ghana to play his song? I’ll never do that”, he further added.
