Upcoming Ghanaian artiste, Kelvin Kay, has hinted on how TikTok challenges have now become an important part of creating music.
In an interview with Akosua Hanson on Y107.9 FM’s Y Lounge, Kelvin Kay said, “TikTok is actually blowing up artistes. This Nigerian artiste, CKay who sang ‘Love Nwantintin’ got his song out there because it was all over TikTok, currently, if you listen to Kiss Daniel’s Buga, you’ll also realize that it’s everywhere because of TikTok.”
He emphasized that, any artiste who wants their song to go viral is now using the platform because it is one of the fastest and easiest ways for their songs to trend.
“If your song is able to blow up on TikTok, you’ll be able to go far because it shows people enjoying your music. It’s a very good platform for emerging artistes like me to share their music because its promotes you globally,” he said.
He noted that he did a TikTok challenge with his new single ‘Black African Girl’ and the feedback so far has been great.
“Currently, we have about 500,000 views on TikTok with different people from different countries like Jamaica, Lesotho and other countries joining in on the trend,” he emphasized.
