Award winning Highlife act, King Promise has revealed why he teamed up with Ghanaian UK rapper, Headie One to produce his second single this year dubbed, “Ring My Line”.
According to him, he and the UK based Ghanaian rapper have been working since they met in 2019, and since then its been good vibes through out.
The whole process has been good vibes because Headie has been my brother for a minute. “I think we met in 2019 when he came to Ghana. We just got some drinks, shocker and went to the studio and we’ve been working actually.”
Responding to why he decided to feature Headie One on this single, he told Princess AJ on Y 107.9 FM’s MMRS, “When I wrote this one ‘Ring my line’, I felt it was was the perfect one for him because I know him. And with what I’m saying in the song, it’s my truth, it’s my story so it had to be someone I felt connected with me on the same level and I felt like he did.”
King Promise furthered, the mere fact that he is Ghanaian and in Ghana having his music reach a global scene, with Headie One also being Ghanaian in the UK just killing it, he believed featuring him on this single was good for the culture.
“It will also elevate our music to the same standards and status and I feel like we deserve it so it was just good for the culture and for Ghanaians,” he charged.
