Ghanaian talented musician and songwriter, Kofi Kinaata, has disclosed how he is always able to make people, young or old, relate to his songs.
According to him, it’s a part of him and although people sometimes say he’s funny because of the kind of music he does, he thinks otherwise.
Speaking to Rev. Erskine on Y 107.9FM’s Myd Morning Radio Show, he said, “I’m not funny. I just don’t like to see people sad and I don’t like to see people go through certain things so, I always want to brighten up wherever I am and always want people to smile whenever they see me. I’ll do this even if it means me going to the extent of cracking a joke”.
As a musician, he also believes that his songs should be relatable and anyone who listen to it should either be educated, informed, motivated or comforted.
“Growing up I was told music should be all this so I make sure that whoever listens to my music gets something out of the music he or she is listening to.”
He added that he doesn’t do it consciously but it’s just a part of him and he thinks it’s very necessary to.
He revealed most of his songs are based on his life experiences, hence he tries to use that to keep others going and he strongly believes it is also another reason why a lot of people are able to relate to his songs.
