Ghanaian singer and songwriter Eugene Kwame Marfo, better known as Kuami Eugene in entertainment circles has shared his displeasing experience after his performance during a football match at Baba Yara sports stadium in Kumasi.
Narrating the incidents at the “most difficult” event the ‘Angela’ hitmaker had performed at, he mentioned; “I have performed to a crowd of 70,000 people before in Sierra Leone, but the numbers at the stadium were not up to that number, but then again this is the most difficult show I have ever performed in my life. The fans got too close to me while I was performing and that was the first time in my career that happened”.
Kuami Eugene again mentioned that a member of his team tried to restrict him from continuing his performance because of the charged crowd and their eagerness to get close to him while performing.
“The crowd were too charged and eager to get close to me and touch me, my road manager at a point took the microphone and asked me not to perform again because of the crowd that was getting close to me whiles I was performing”, he said.
Continuing his narration, the ‘Rock Star’ mentioned that he was asked to halt his performance because of the raging crowd and was forced to comply leaving him to perform only 3 songs out of the planned 15.
“I planned on performing 15 songs on the night but had to perform only 3 because of the crowd and some Kotoko officials who came to me to ask me to halt the performance”, he added.
On Sunday, 12th June 2022, Kuami Eugene performed at the Baba Yara sports stadium in Kumasi during the coronation match of Asante Kotoko Sporting Club.
