General Manager of Ayroe Series and Women Empowerment activist Beatrice Shine Ayrae has sent a note of caution to young women to accumulate knowledge and acquire personal skills to avoid diverse kinds of abuses inflicted by perceived caretakers or relationship partners.
The businesswoman during an interview on Y 107.9 FM’s, YLeaderBoard series noted that a lot of women who are abused by their husbands cannot voice out because in doing so, they giveaway their only means of survival.
Speaking as a victim of marital abuse, she said, “I was constantly being abused by my child’s father and my ex-husband; most days I was sleeping on an empty stomach as a pregnant woman; A lot of abuses cases are shoved under the carpet because the survivors or the victims never report them.”
With intermittent references to her past life, she stated that going to the university and getting a job shortly after, marked the genesis of her liberation from abuses that cut across right from being abused by her stepbrother, to being abused by her ex-husband as well. “I want to help eradicate child molestation and marital abuse and help in eradicating them in society; I also want to teach young women what must be done and help young women to learn skills when they are married so that they are not too dependent on their husbands which can lead to all kinds of abuses.”
