Reports making rounds over the weekend indicated that two popular A List Ghanaian actresses, Yvonne Okoro and Lydia Forson, turned down an offer to feature in Kofi Asamoah’s yet to be released movie, ‘Away Bus’ because of social media star Rosemond Brown was playing a cameo in the movie.
Confirming the incident on Takoradi’s entertainment & lifestyle morning show, Ryse N Shyne with Chelsy Sey on Y97.9 FM, Rosemond Brown known in showbiz as “Akuapem Poloo” explained the two had already received their script prior to her being called by the producer Kofi Asamoah. However, upon discovering that Brown was part of the cast, they decided to turn down their roles.
Reacting to this development Akuapem Polo stated that even though she is fully aware that Lydia Forson doesn’t like her, both Lydia and Yvonne should have looked at it from the business perspective and be professional about the situation.
“This same thing happened at the Golden Movie Awards last year. Lydia Forson refused to mount the stage to present an award when she realised I was also at the backstage getting ready to give an award too. She questioned the organisers about my presence at the backstage and walked off. Even though she doesn’t like me, I see her as a senior sister in the industry and I adore her.”
