Ghanaian Hiplife and Highlife sensation, Pure Akan has expressed his gratitude for an incidental encounter that led to his entry into a recording studio, describing it as a true blessing.
The versatile Ghanaian musician recently shared the remarkable story of how his journey into the world of music began during an interview on Y 107.9 FM’s “Party Pressure” with Princess AJ.
For him, the studio became his creative playground, allowing him to hone his musical skills and experiment with sounds.
He recounted, “I was friends with my seniors in high school who invited me to a studio session one time, and it turned out very good for my first time. So the guy who owned the studio asked me to come through every time I needed a studio to record. I think for me, having access to the studio was the beginning of my career.”
“It was the time I had access to the studio that I could play around and experiment with sounds. That was when I began to plan and knew how to build from the introduction, add some backing, do this and all that. That was when I learned all the techniques, and because I had a lot of studio time, it was just a blessing to me,” he added.
He further revealed that his decision to take music seriously came after completing high school when he realized his talent and passion for it.
“I also wanted to make a project, and that was with the Akan EP to sort of introduce myself into the industry,” he added. “So the Akan EP was about me and wanting to let people know that I can rap. So I was just wild, rapping and all that, and the EP happened.”
The Ghanaian artiste’s journey from that first studio session to becoming a household name in the music industry serves as an inspiration to other talents.
