Organizers of the National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ), Prime Time Limited, have expressed satisfaction at the outcome of the 2020 NSMQ which ended yesterday, 8th September 2020.
Speaking to YFM’s Rev. Erskine on the Myd Morning Radio Show, Managing Director of Prime Time Limited, Nana Akua Ankomah uttered that it is a great feeling to know that all the hard work and sacrifices that were invested into this year’s NSMQ did not go to waste.
“It gives us great pleasure to see the impact of our work on people. It is gratifying to see people speak so well about the programme and to see people tuning in and streaming to watch. It is very gratifying to see that all our hard work and sleepless nights gave people pleasure as well as the educational aspect. We have done a lot to improve how the programme was organized”, she said.
Detailing the work that went into organizing such a great event amid COVID-19, Nana Akua Ankomah disclosed that one important factor for the organizers was protecting everybody from COVID-19. “We set up a 24-hour on-site clinic on location headed by the Physician specialist from the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC) and manned by nurses from the centre”, she added.
“We had to disinfect the place. The microphones and the bells had to be disinfected after each contest. We had to do a whole lot of things differently. We are glad that we went to that extent and that we have been able to do the competition and do it very well in a safe environment for everybody. We had to take a lot of things into consideration this time”.
