The presidential candidate of the Convention People’s Party, Ivor Kobina Greenstreet has shared on the Y leaderboard Series some tips to grow one’s business.
Speaking to host Rev. Erskine, he expressed that to grow a business, through research, one needs to find a potential market that has not yet been tapped into and “get into that so that you get ahead of the curve”.
He noted that while one can go into business alone, it is recommended to go into it with friends where the set up is legally right thereby avoiding conflicts.
Illustrating his point, he shared his experience of working with friends and how that has been successful.
“With a group of friends(we are all coffee drinkers) and there is some wonderful coffee that comes from the higher mountains and plateaus in the Volta region which from time to time, we have visited and seen.
We set up a company called Gold Coast Roasters Limited. When the coffee is harvested and brought to the factory, which is on the Spintex road, tons and tons of the stuff are roasted and sold in all the shops around.
We’ve been amazed by how successful it’s been. But that is not the coffee like Nescafe. You know this is roasted. I am surprised at how many people are buying”.
Ivor reiterated, “There are a lot of niche areas that people can look out for in terms of refining and processing and making those things available”.
