Peace Council Chair shares the two principles that this current generation needs to learn

Rev. Dr. Ernest Adu-Gyamfi, Chairman of the National Peace Council has observed that the trait of honesty and the commitment to work are two very important qualities that most of the youth these days who go into the Ministry lack, and they need to learn them.
According to him, this has become the major problem that our current generation has, especially when it comes to serving the people without looking for material wealth in return. “People go into Ministry and they turn it into a source of making money”.
However, in his view, money should not be a priority for people in Ministry especially, because the Bible makes it clear that anyone who seeks the Lord faithfully will have all other things added unto them. He said this during an interview with Akosua Hanson on Ghana’s number one youth empowerment programme, the Y-Leaderboard Series which airs on Y107.9FM.
“I think that our calling is to help people find the Lord, help them be established in the Lord and help them to walk faithfully in the Lord. That is the priority. I believe that anyone who does this faithfully will be rewarded one way or the other”, he said.
Dr. Adu-Gyamfi advised in accordance with this, that youth who wish to go into Ministry and do the work of the Lord should keep in mind that this service requires honesty and commitment, and that money or financial gain should not be a priority.
He added in conclusion that, “If somebody goes into Ministry with this mentality, they’ve already lost it. It is not the prestige, it is not the money, and it is not what you make out of it. It is about God calling us to serve his people and to bring His people closer to him so that should be the number one priority for anybody who is in Ministry”.
