Renowned radio personality and host of YLeaderboardSeries, Rev. Erskine, is set to introduce Accra’s mass music listening and networking session, #PlugNPlayAccra to support young and emerging artistes.
In recent times, some Ghanaian artistes have lamented on the lack of support from their fellow countrymen who rather choose to promote the hustle of outsiders. Some have argued that, this is due to the distaste in music, whilst others believes it’s a plot to bring them down.
Regardless, the #PlugNPlayAccra slated for Saturday, April 2nd at the Luxe Lounge in East Legon, presents the perfect moment to support emerging artistes, as it promises to be the first of its kind in Accra and Ghana at large.
Commenting on the initiative via twitter, Rev. Erskine, called on ‘underground artistes’ to share their best projects with him in order to puts together a listening session. He has gained and mobilized the necessary sponsors counting from prominent DJs, venue, music streaming avenues among others to organize a grand listening session.
Meanwhile, other media personalities have also taken the mandate to change the system; the narrative of Ghanaians being their own downfall in the music industry and mobilize support for artistes putting the culture on the map, as well as the emerging Ghanaian acts.
Bigg Homie Flee, born Kojo Okoampah deserves special appreciation as he has been the underlining force pushing the Ghanaian culture to the world.
