Kumasi-based beat maker, Richmond Yeboah,popularly known as RDEE has emerged winner of the maiden edition of the ‘Beat Makers Battle’.
He was adjudged winner of the competition at the grand finale held on Friday, 6th November,2020 at Mikkanddo Conference Center in Accra.
The ‘Beat Makers Battle’ is an event organized by QP music production to select the most innovative and creative ‘Beat Makers’ in Ghana.
The event was held for roughly two months and it started with hundreds of beat makers filing for the battle in hopes to clinch the ultimate price. The number was cut-down through a vigorous selection process and the judges finally settled on 16 beat makers for the grand finale.
The major final was between RDEE and Teknik Beatz which was a close-tied competition. Both beat geniuses thrilled the judges to top-notch beats which were perfectly mixed. Richmond Yeboah aka RDEE eventually emerged the winner of the ultimate battle. The decision was an unanimous one by the three experienced judges namely Zabb Mallet, Bessa Simone and Ubeats.
Speaking about the event, Francis Amaasah explained the rationale behind the ‘Beat Makers Battle’
‘’Music is the spice of life, and the beat brings the lyric to life. To have great music we need great beat makers, hence this event to help showcase the beat making talents that abound here in Ghana’’ he said.
RDEE on his part expressed his elation at his win when he said: “It is a great privilege to be adjudged the winner in the Beat Makers Battle. I thank all who have supported me throughout the competition. I believe this is a step to greater things”.
RDEE is set to represent the country at the 2021 Battle of the Beat Makers competition at the Toronto Opera House in Toronto,Canada.
