Rt. Rev. Mrs. Patricia Sappor, Immediate Past President of the Chartered Institute of Bankers, has revealed where her motivation to start banking came from.
According to her, the inspiration came to her as a result of her frequent visits to the bank with her mother.
Speaking to Rev. Erskine on YLeaderboard Series on Y107.9 FM, she mentioned that, “The inspiration was about the fact that my mother handled a lot of money from all the businesses she was involved in, and I would accompany her to the bank to make deposits and then also to make withdrawals.”
She furthered that, at a point, she was even sent alone with a driver to the bank to make deposits and all these visits especially, seeing how they work led to her her developing some interest for banking.
“I came to really admire the banking staff. How they dressed, the atmosphere, professionalism and all that. So, I begun to take interest in the banking profession and gradually that was what led me into the baking space,” she explained.
