Ghanaian Reggae and Dancehall musician, Emanuel Andrews Samini, popularly known as Samini, has expressed his dissatisfaction in the behavior of some music lovers towards his craft and on how to runs ‘High Grade Family’ record label.
The dancehall artiste took to social media to address his concerns on the behavior of present-day fans towards musicians, stating that they tend to make demands from their favorite artiste to make music that primarily pleases them. This, he believes tends to affects the originality of the artistes.
“All I know is how is create music and perform to my fans who value and believe in my craft as such.” He stated as part of his intentions to set himself as distinct in the Ghanaian music industry as a whole.
According to the Samini, the High-Grade family is the oldest and longest running fan base in Ghana, adding that “as a founding member of the record label, I see myself as one that comes from a time where you had to go to shows or watch tv in hopes to see your favorite artiste and not one who is bent on gaining publicity”.
Samini advised fans to focus on pushing High Grade Family brand and desist from giving attention to separations made within the said record label. “Let’s the artiste be the artiste and the fan be the humble and genuinely loving fan with no ulterior motive,” he said.
