Ghanaian Reggae/Dancehall Legend, Samini in a latest interview on Y97.9FM has disclosed the real reason why he did not sign fast rising vocalist Deon Boakye.
The talented Afropop artist who made it to the Unsung Artiste category of the VGMAs in 2017, was introduced and endorsed by the “Obaa” hitmaker during his 2018 VGMAs performance.
In an exclusive interview on #ShoutsOnY with Bushke on Y97.9fm, Samini who has been nominated in the Reggae Dancehall category of the VGMAs 2019 stated emphatically that he did not sign Deon Boakye because he wanted to focus on his career.
“The time that I saw him was when I had finished off with Kofi Kinaata who has now been able to setup his own label and is doing his thing. And I have done so for some artistes in the past and it was just time for me to concentrate on brand Samini.
Samini who recently released the video for his latest effort “Rainbow” is still promoting his 7th studio album – “Untamed” which debuted at Number 8 on the Top 10 Billboard Reggae Albums.
