Ghanaian rapper, Strongman has explained the motive behind naming his recently released EP ‘The Tape’.
Speaking on the ‘Dryve of your Lyfe’ show with Kojo Manuel on Y 107.9 FM, the ‘Baby Girl’ hitmaker mentioned that he wanted to be a bit primitive and use the old term. He mentioned that he wanted to be his old musical self, and explained that his old self was more about him. That was why a couple of the songs on the EP were about himself.
“I know it’s been long you heard about ‘Tape’. DJs don’t even play ‘Tapes’ anymore so I wanted to be my old self and my old self was about myself, that’s why most of the songs talk about me,” he said.
The Extended Playlist (EP) is a 6-track EP that features talented Ghanaian and international artistes including Kofi Mole, Kweku Flick, Ice Prince, A Klassik, and Akwaboah. The EP was produced by KC Beatz, Fimfim, and Tubhani Musik.
“The Tape” is currently out for streaming on all digital platforms and the feedback on the EP so far is impressive.
