Ghanaian Afro beats and hip hop musician, Michael Takyi-Frimpong known professionally as Lord Paper has stated that the Ghanaian music industry has improved and made so much progress than in times past.
From his perspective, the industry opening doors for new artistes alone is enough proof that the industry has improved.
Talking to Brown Berry on Y 107.9 FM’s Ryse N Shyne Show he said, “Before, it was just certain people singing all the time but now the doors have been opened for new people and new talents to show what they have and that alone is progress”.
Comparing before to now, he added that before he had to force his way into the industry and do everything on his own because, “it was difficult to blow. Things have changed now because of social media”.
He mentioned that, now in the industry artistes need to have a certain style that is different and unique enough so you can stand out.
He advised upcoming artistes to be different because, “you can’t be like anyone else so if you have something different coming out everyone will want to see it because we’ve seen it all”.
