Quite a number of people have no idea what the law of the country says about privacy and this has resulted in the breach of the rights of many Ghanaians.
Lawyer Kwabena Boateng has shared some guides everyone should be aware of on what the law of the country says about privacy.
Breaking it down, he stated that, “The first is confidentiality as it applies to professionals. This is where professionals such as doctors, lawyers and all others have to keep matters discussed with their clients in confidence”.
In an interview with Rev Nyansa Boakwa on Happy 98.9 FM’s NsemPii he said, “This is where everything you hear during the performance of your duties isn’t shared with anyone else”.
He shared that confidentiality demands that you respect everything everyone says to you, “To the extent that not even your wife whom you share a bed with should know about the issue discussed with you in private else the law has every right to deal with you”.
He went on to say that if this law is breached then the professional body which you belong to has every right to deal with you in whichever way they please.
“That aside, we all have our rights and freedom and we should all respect each other’s privacy” he stated.
