Ghanaian singer and songwriter, THE ART has disclosed that the troubles he encountered in his early days inspired him to create his latest single, “Minshɛɛ”.
In an exclusive interview on Y 107.9 FM’s YLounge with host, Akosua Hanson, he noted that “Minshɛɛ” is a major reminder of how far he has come in his music career despite the hurdles of betrayal and disappointment in his social circle.
“I have been through a lot; your own boys could do so much against you but you have to learn how to grow out of the pain; you will feel the pain alright, but you just have to learn how to ignore it and focus.”
The lyricist revealed that the betrayal he faced in the early days of his career has been a lesson teacher which has shaped his career and has served as an inspiration to always seek for the better things in life.
“I really felt the pain and I also took a lot from everything that happened; the pain could have derailed me but it rather inspired me to write this song. There’s a line I loop in the song that says, because of where I am coming from, anything other than joy should stay away from me; it’s a nuisance.,” he added
The title of the song, “Minshɛɛ” translates from Ga to English as Joy, presently curating an impressive number of streams across all music streaming platforms.
