Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Business and Financial Times (B&FT) newspaper, Dr. Mrs. Edith Dankwa has advised the youth of Ghana to be vigilant and not deceive themselves that “there are no opportunities” in the country.
According to her, there are so many opportunities in Ghana but as a society, we take them for granted.
Advising the youth in an interview on Y 107.9 FM’s Myd Morning Show hosted by Rev Erskine, the CEO for Africa’s biggest business newspaper said, “We take things for granted but we have so much in Ghana. We have so many opportunities around us as at this moment and each one of us must be happy and proud to be a Ghanaian.”
She noted that the ordinary Ghanaian, especially the youth should take advantage of these opportunities at their disposal by looking around for them.
Dr. Mrs. Edith Dankwa, however, acknowledged that regardless of the numerous opportunities available for the youth, the problem many people face is identifying and grasping them. “But as a young Ghanaian who really wants to work and take advantage of the numerous opportunities, you will certainly find them by asking and look for them.
The media personality urging the youth to be aggressive in search of opportunities indicated that “there are young people doing great things out there and you (Ghanaian youth) must also be ready for the opportunity should it present itself. If you’re not ready, the opportunity will come and you’ll not see it.”
She also admitted that as an experienced and established individual, she is always in search of opportunities but does not always find them all. “Even for some of us, it is not all opportunities you will see. It has taken me a while to identify some of these opportunities.”
The media guru further explained that one can also identify an opportunity depending on her interest.
“We should lookout for opportunities. But if you really want to work in this country and make an impact, you can,” she reiterated.
