Are you tired of receiving weird spammy direct messages from people you don’t even follow on Twitter? Then you will like this.
Direct messages on Twitter can be a pain. If you have opted-in to get DMs from anyone, your inbox is probably filling up faster than the speed of light… and most messages are likely to be spam from people you don’t even know.
Well, now there is a new Twitter inbox filter, so messages from people you don’t follow will automatically go to your new “requests” inbox.
This new inbox within your inbox, will let you review those messages and you will then be able to choose to either “delete” or “accept” the inbound messages. Users who sent you these DMs will never know their messages were filtered, until you accept it of course.
The new “requests” inbox is already rolling out to users who have opted-in receiving direct messages from anyone on Twitter.
I have it and I was really pleased to see that it went back in time to filter out all messages from people I don’t follow, even if over one year old!
