Modern Now Esports has proven to exude dominance and live by name as the team scared off competition in the Kumasi qualifying games of the FIFA22 Ultimate Pro Gaming(UPG) Esports Tournament.
The team became the only team to have portrayed confidence, and resilience to register for the Kumasi qualifiers after weeks of open entry. Esports teams around Kumasi are believed to have veered off because they have been startled by the tournament’s competitiveness during previous qualifying games.
Hence Modern Now Esports gain automatic qualification to the finals in Accra. Originals Esports makes a swift comeback after emerging as the third-best placed team across both qualifiers in Accra and Takoradi.
Both Modern Now Esports and Originals Esports will now face Takoradi’s PlayProvince and Ruutz Esports and Accra’s Team Falcon and Xplosion Esports in the forthcoming finals on December 23.
“Right after the Takoradi qualifiers, we had Modern Now Esports book their registration for Kumasi’s qualifiers and that was a good feedback considering our journey so far. We engaged with espirts team in the region to register theor particpation, however, the feedback we gathered paints a picture of lack of confidence and low on challenges. With Originals Esports inclusion they have been one of the best in terms of conduct, fair play and aggregates. So it was fair they were the next team to make the cut,” Eric Ackon, Technical Director and Facilitator at UPG Esports Agency shared.
