Upcoming Ghanaian afro beats sensation Vanilla, has released his debut song dubbed ‘sikle t3’ after signing on to Bullhouse Entertainment.
Speaking on YFM with YFM’s Kokonsa Kester during the ‘Weekend Rush’ show, he mentioned that the song was inspired by his wish and crave to get his ex-girlfriend back into a relationship with him.
” ‘Sikle t3’ means toffee in Ga and this toffee I was talking about is my ex whom I came across after a while of separation and I want her back.”
Vanilla further disclosed how tiring it was, being on his own as an artist and taking up managerial roles for himself, getting interviews and playtime on radio and TV.
“It feels good, it feels great because I have been alone for a while and trying to get interviews is not easy and trying to get your songs played is not easy and the work was big and I felt small, now I am on a record label and everything is catered for all I have to do is make good music.”
Speaking on his musical journey so far, he stated that his music career started in Senior high school after a performance and then he pursued it in the university and partook in music reality shows like Mentor, Vodafone Iconz and MTN Hitmaker. He added that he was inspired by legendary Ghanaian artists Kojo Antwi, Daddy Lumba and Ofori Amponsah growing up and in his musical career.
