American actor and producer Broderick Stephen Harvey, known in showbiz as Steve Harvey, has recommended Ghana to all holiday makers who have plans of visiting Africa, as the first African country to visit.
The motivational speaker’s intriguing statement comes on the back of his appreciation for Africans and the impact they’ve had on African Americans today.
“After you go to Africa, you have got to go to Ghana first.” Harvey highlighted, and followed up with Botswana and Johannesburg as countries that must be visited to understand the African culture.
“You got to do that jump that right there; once you see that, you will know who we are. The Black people are the beat, they are the rhythm, they are the soul, they are the hard work; we get our courage from them.” The host of the Steve Harvey show revealed in an interview on an American TV talk show, as he tagged Africans as the muse behind the progress of Africans in the diaspora. He also said Africans do not poach anything from the Western culture but rather have been stripped off of what rightfully belongs to Africa.
Ghana, since 2017, has stood as the ‘Gateway to Africa’ which was reignited by the ‘Year of Return’ and ‘Beyond the Return’ initiatives. Ghana, over the years, became a massive global brand and advocate for the rich African culture to people across Europe, The United States and the Carribean, collectively the Diaspora. Steve Harvey joined people from the Diaspora to visit Ghana during 2019’s Year of Return festivities.
