Award-Winning Ghanaian rap talent, Kojo Luda believes awards are an influential part of the careers of every musician.
As a creative, he insists winning awards makes him a better musician and always pushes him to go the extra mile.
Kojo Luda has to his credit a number of awards. He won New Artiste Discovery at the 2018 edition of the Western-North Music Awards (WeNMA). In 2019, he received nine nominations for the 2019 edition of the Western-North Music Awards (WeNMA) and eventually bagged four awards, won artiste of the year in the 2020 edition of the same awards. In 2021, he was honoured as Artiste of the Year at the Ghana Merit Awards.
He told Kokonsa Kester on Y107.9FM’s Weekend Rush show, “the feeling of winning these awards really motivated me a lot and gave me the inspiration and feeling that whatever I am doing, somebody somewhere is listening to me. And I simply work hard.”
Although he looks up to self-made Ghanaian artistes, his biggest mentors are fellow fast-rising artistes. “Every musician is my mentor, but my co up and coming artistes are my biggest motivators. This is because if I see someone on the same level as me striving to breakthrough, I also want to work harder and be recognised.”
According to him, he will be forced to choose Samini, Sarkodie, Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy and Kuami Eugene if he is working on a 5 track EP that requires features. “There will be a mixture of all genres for versatility.”
Kojo Luda is out with a new single titled ‘Sika’. The song motivates and empowers the youth to work hard and believe they will make it. ‘Sika’ is produced by Ghanaian new generation High-Life star, Kuami Eugene.
