The various brands under YFM, Ghana’s no.1 urban radio station (Y 107.9 FM, Accra, Y 102.5 FM Kumasi and Y 97.9 FM Takoradi) have unveiled a strong line ups of in-house DJs for the much anticipated Y Clash of the DJs.
Reigning champions, Y 102.5 Kumasi makes a change to their lineup with DJ Bongo. He joins DJ Coleda, the best last year and DJ Carcious to represent the brand come April.
Y 107.9 FM Accra is presenting the ‘baddest’ on the turntables, DJ Ganj, DJ Mic Smith and DJ Loft.
Y 97.9 FM, Takoradi on the other hand is buzzed to top the competition after unveiling DJ Gunshot, DJ Edita and DJ Suraka as the brand’s representatives.
The “Y Clash of the DJs” competition promises to be an unforgettable night for music lovers and fans of YFM Ghana alike. This year’s Y Clash of the DJs will not only be a competition between in-house and established DJs across the brands but also unleash Ghana’s next generational talent.
With this year’s edition focusing on protégées from across the Y-Triangle, and giving them a platform to make their mark in the industry, the new talents will also be unveiled come Friday.
These protégées will join the various in-house brands and go up against each other in fierce head-to-head battles, with the hope of impressing the judges and the audience with their skills in Kumasi later this year.
“We’re thrilled to be hosting the ‘Y Clash of the DJs’ competition once again, and we’re excited to see the level of talent each station brings to the table. We expect nothing but the best from each DJ, and we know that the audience will be blown away by the sheer skill and talent on display,” Manasseh Kwafo, Project Lead stated.
The Y Clash of the DJs was birthed during the heightened period of the Covid-19 pandemic, with YFM’s quest to entertain its listeners. This year marks the 4th edition of the competition, and it promises to be even bigger and better than before.
The competition over the years has been a battle between Ghana’s A-list DJs from Y107.9FM in Accra, Y102.5FM in Kumasi, and Y97.9FM in Takoradi. These talented DJs have gone head-to-head in electrifying themed battles that showcase their selection, transitions, mixes, rhythm, and pulse.
