Recently, there has been a growing stigma and discrimination against people who contracted the COVID-19 disease and have now recovered.
This stigma associated with the disease is mainly due to the fact that it is still new in the system and people are unconvinced about whether or not a recovered person may still have traces of the virus in their system and possibly still be able to infect other people.
Yfm presenter, Kokonsa Kester, during an interview with Foster Romanus on e.TV Ghana‘s Late Nite Celebrity Show, advised that people who have contracted and recovered from the Coronavirus are no less human than everyone else, hence the public should put a stop to making them feel inferior.
“They’re part of us and they need your love and support to be able to recover better so if someone has tested positive for COVID-19, it doesn’t mean that’s the end of the world”, he said.
Kester noted that it is very important that we show immense love, care, support and concern to the affected and recovered, to help them get back on their feet.
He further urged that in doing this, everyone should be sure to observe safety protocols and stay safe, so that everyone can make it out of these trying times.
