The radio brand which celebrates its staff to the highest peak, YFM Ghana, has finally redeemed its travel prize package to the winning team of the 3rd edition of the ‘Y Clash of the DJs.
The ‘Y Clash of the DJs’, is an internal contest between DJs across the YFM Triangle (Y107.9FM-Accra, Y102.5FM-Kumasi, Y97.9FM-Takoradi) to promote health competition, showcase their talents and serve as a bonding opportunity for DJs.
The contest which happened in April 2002, saw the Killa Squad from YFM-Kumasi, represented by DJ Carcious, DJ Lexes, DJ Coleda and their hypeman DJ Bongo, racking a total of 722 points from the six rounds ‘Made in Ghana’, Afrobeat, Throwback, Hip Hop, Reggae Dancehall and Back in the day.
The Killla Squad won for themselves Ghs 50,000 worth of prizes including an all-expense paid trip to Dubai. The four (4) DJs and their hypeman are set to leave for the four (4) day Dubai trip on 28th October, enjoying the scenery of the rich oil country, meeting new people, introduced to key players in the Dubai entertainment scene and most importantly, playing in some notable clubs in the country.
Hypeman DJ Bongo, on behalf of the Killa Squad described the trip as one the team has been anticipating for the greater part of the year. To them, Christmas came early.
The Killa Squad promises to make the best out of the trip and use the opportunity to learn a lot more from the party country, sharing that knowledge with their colleagues upon their return.
Programmes Manager of Y102.5FM-Kumasi, Nathaniel Osei Kuffour (Mahony) urged the Killa Squad to make the best out of their trip and come back fully refreshed and loaded in novel djing techniques and tricks.
