YFM, Ghana’s number one urban station, on Friday 16th August treated tertiary students from various institutions, under the open skies of the Serallio Restaurant and Event Centre with a night of fun before school resumes, in an event dubbed ‘College Rocks’.
Organized under YFM’s Y Campus Express (YCE) wing, the event had the venue well branded with a rustic setup that gave the patrons the needed ambience before starting a new semester.
An excited partygoer, Petra Nyatepe who is a student of the University of Ghana Legon said this is not her first encounter with YCE said ‘’I was at the YCE event that was held in March during the Pent Hall week and it is official ‘College Rocks’ is indeed the official and best Pre ‘Akwaaba’ party.
“In my opinion, a party is not just about playing music, it’s about the dexterity of the DJ and the sequence and seamless flow of each song from one genre to the other. And YFM DJs do not disappoint. I am so ready for my first semester of level four hundred (400)’’ she beamed.
Another reveller, Maame Esi Peterson Brown a level three hundred (300) Student of University of Cape Coast expressed her gratitude to YFM for the College Rocks party.
‘’The open bar setup did the magic for me, it gave the party the ambiance it needed. I have been dancing throughout. I am so happy a friend invited me and it was worth it.
I think what set YFM apart is that they genuinely understand the needs of young people like us. Thank you YFM’’ she said.
Programmes Manager of YFM Eddy Blay commended Serallio Restaurant, Open Bar and Event Centre for the partnership and Blanc Foussy for refreshing the patrons. According to Eddy Blay when it comes to events and anything else about YFM we always go by this quote.
‘’Whatever you do, do it well”
This quote summarises what we do for our listeners all year round. We always want to give them the best so they can keep coming again and again.” he stated.
Rev Erskine who is the host of the YCE radio show also gave the opportunity for interested students to join the YCE Fan Club.
“There are benefits to joining the fan club such as meeting and interacting with new people and always getting first hand information on what is going on at YFM. You can also tune in to Y 107.9 FM every Saturday from 12:00 noon to 3:00 pm to be part of the YCE radio show’’ he stated.
