The newest addition to the YFM family, Hypeman Ferggy, has confessed his great obsession and admiration for the YFM brand since its inception in Ghana.
On his first official appearance on Y 97.9 FM during the ‘Myd Morning Radio Show’ with PK, the professional MC and enterprising hitmaker mentioned that the YFM brand had always been a part of him despite his association with various news outlets in the Western region.
He also revealed that he shunned going to the internet cafés to listen to urban radio stations that were not from Ghana. The moment he heard and listened to YFM, he believed that was the local urban he had always wanted to hear on the Ghanaian airwaves.
“YFM has always been a part of me, gone are the days when kids would go to the internet café to chat with their pen pals or play video games. I went there purposefully to listen to international urban radio stations. So, with the insurgence of YFM in Ghana, I realised this was what I wasn’t getting in Ghana, so I did not to go to the internet café to listen to a certain kind of presenter or style of radio presentation, “he said.
He also acknowledged his long wait to be a part of the YFM brand and his eagerness to start working and start the he had been assigned to.
“It’s been seven years of waiting and I am finally here. I can’t wait to start the show and work.”
“YFM means a whole lot to me and means everything to me,” he remarked.
Hypeman Ferggy joins the Y 97.9 FM brand in Takoradi as host of the most listened to show business radio in the region, ‘Y Entertainment Podium’ on Saturdays and segment host for the Digitrendz segment on the ‘Myd Morning Radio Show’ and ‘Ryse N Shyne’ shows respectively.
