Producer, artiste and DJ, Samuel Ohemeng Oware, popularly known as, DatBeatGod, has expressed concern over the comparison between Ghanaians songs to Nigerian and South African (Amapiono) songs.
According to him, Ghanaians are opinionated and have the right to like any other songs, however, “it does not give them the mandate to totally trash Ghanaian music.”
In an interview with Kojo Manuel on Y107.9FM’s Dryve of Your Lyfe Show, DatBeatGod said, “We have music out there that is making waves but its standards are not up to songs being churned out by underground artistes from Ghana. We’re very good at doing music but not visible to the world”.
“I think the problem is promotion and like I said, the investors are not there so the visibility is also not there. Right now, the whole thing is that you have to use money to push yourself to the screen for the audience to see you,” he said.
