Ghanaian rapper, record producer and songwriter Jayso has disclosed that, his record label “Skillions records” might reunite soon after a long break.
Stating his reasons for the break he mentioned that he believes all the artistes on the label are independent artistes and as such, at any point in time should be free to do anything they want because, “nobody was bounded by any contract it was just a family that came together to do music”.
In an interview with Kokonsa Kester on Y 107.9 FM’s Weekend Rush he said, “A reunion is very very possible and I see the new generation doing it more than the older generation because, for myself, E.L, J-Town and the others we’ve already moved into a lot of different things but a reunion is still possible”.
Mentioning some of the different things he has been working on he stated, “I am currently grooming some new artistes on my own as Jayso and some of them have already started releasing music like Titi Owusu and Paapa is still with the label so he is still releasing music”.
Jayso is of the view that, the new generation artistes from the label are most likely the ones to make the reunion happen.
He however went on to say that although the record label was inactive for a while he never really felt the impact because, “For me as long as we’re all doing our thing and all active individually I believe it’s still pushing the dream or the goal. So as long as I see Shaker, E.L or anyone who is affiliated with the brand excelling in my opinion it means the brand is still moving and was never inactive”.
