French ambassador to Ghana, Her Excellency Anne Sophie Avé has emphasized on the relevance of individual having the ability to speak more languages.
The French ambassador addressing the distortions and misconceptions in the media explained that learning to speak other languages especially French was to the benefit of Ghanaians and some Africans and not imperialism.
On her appearance on the ‘Y Leaderboard Series’ with Rev Erskine on Y 107.9 FM, she said; “Speaking other languages is just for you, it is an asset, I say same to my children in France. I tell them they will go no where if they don’t speak proper English. So speaking other languages is a definite asset and not about giving up on your own country.”
H.E. Anne Sophie Avé speaking to the forms and styles of teaching of the French language in Ghana applauded French teachers in Ghana and some plans her outfit had made to equip French teachers in Ghana.
“Some teachers are doing a good job teaching French here in Ghana and we are trying to help them to even do better when teaching the language because it has to be fun,” she said.
She added that her efforts to learn the Twi language was to encourage the youth in a Ghana to also learn to speak the French language.
“Maybe people will say if at my old age I can learn the Twi language, they would also decide to learn the french language since they are of youthful vibrance and have sharper brains,” she said.
Her Excellency Anne Sophie Avé arrived and started her diplomatic functions in Ghana in 2018. She has since been applauded for her great service and profound human relations skills, notable ones includes her vibrancy on Twitter.
