Radio presenter and media personality Ebenezer Donkoh, known in showbiz as “NY DJ,” has advised all uprising musicians in the industry to discover how they can make money through their music.
He revealed that, apart from growing a fan base and getting your work as a musician on streaming platforms to be enjoyed, there’s a business aspect to it as well, which must be known by all greenhorn musicians in the industry. “Your job shouldn’t just be about knowing how to record music; you should also know how you’re able to make money out of your music and the avenues through which you can actually push your music.” he stated, adding further that making music in Ghana is very tedious, especially for rising artists that seek to make their music known but must understand how the business aspect of it works as they work hard alongside.
In an interview on Y102.5FM’s Ryse N’ Shyne, the host indicated that what validates music as a business is its ability to satisfy the needs of the people, as it is needed every day in today’s world, which is a legit avenue to make money.
“If people are looking for music and you are able to make it, then you should be able to make money out of it.” the socialite noted.
