Ghanaian actor, Adjetey Anang, popularly known as ‘Pusher’ which was his screen name in the television series ‘Things We Do For Love’, has highlighted what made the series famous.
According to him, they never thought the series will earn that level of prominence everyone of all ages will talk about. For him, the cast were just students having fun and excited to be on TV.
Speaking to Rev. Erskine on Y107.9FM’s YLeaderboard Series, he said, “I think one of the things that really made it successful was the fact that there wasn’t anything that was speaking to the youth and parents relationship directly. That was how come a lot of people focused on that, and it also brought to light some of the things parents did not know about their children. They had no idea about the content of their conversations when they are away from home or in their own space, and we were bringing these out through the stories we were telling.”
He emphasized that this was one of the reasons why most parents were also hooked to the series, as they were being informed about things they thought they knew but didn’t.
“So, they realized these people were in a different world and generation from theirs. So, bits and pieces of this made it really the hot thing to watch on TV not just the entertainment side, but more importantly practically giving information about what is happening on the street, neighborhood and schools and that for me made things we do for love a hit, ” he emphasized.
