The fact that Gyakie is the most recent performer to be announced is not surprising given that the Songbird has remained one of Africa’s most promising acts ever since her debut album. From the moment she released her first tracks, Gyakie began to amass a devoted following, and her breakthrough in the music industry was anticipated.
Gyakie’s musical development has unquestionably followed her increasing success, from the online and peer recognition that her songs “Never Like This” and “Love Is Pretty” received to the release of her debut EP and the subsequent success of her breakthrough track “Forever.”
The artist received millions of streams across more than a hundred African nations when “Forever” reached its peak in 2021. Her song “Forever” remix with Omah Lay has received over 30M views on YouTube, and her tracks have consistently topped the African Apple Music charts.
Gyakie’s smart collaborations with musicians from outside of Africa, managed by her record company Flip The Music, have unquestionably elevated her to the status of a serious contender for a potential worldwide phenomenon. Gyakie promises listeners a completely different experience from her debut SEED EP with the publication of her sophomore EP, “My Diary,” which is scheduled for July 22.
She is already prepared, having released two singles earlier this month: “For My Baby,” a sensual R&B Highlife blend, and “Something,” an Afrobeats single.
