Ghanaian actor and entrepreneur, Elikem Kumordzie, says the German production ‘Borga’, which he starred in, is not just one of the regular movies people see every day.
“You know how you’re invited to be a part of a project and you’re thinking this is just another movie, Borga is not. A lot has been put into Borga. It’s a German-Ghanaian collaboration so you can think of the knowledge transfer with such professional Hollywood standard directors merging with Ghanaians to do something. It’s not just about the movie, it’s about the exchange of cultures and lessons and transfer of knowledge”, he expressed.
In an interview on Y107.9FM’s Ryse n Shyne with host, BrownBerry, Elikem Kumordzie said “From the inception of Borga till now, it’s been twelve years in the making. Talking about the conception of the movie, writing it, casting, shooting, and all. We shot this movie before Covid and like they say, wine gets better with time”, he said.
The actor also disclosed that a lot has been put into the production of ‘Borga’, from the visual quality to sound, editing and everything else, and it has all not gone in vain because the movie so far, has won eight awards locally and ten more globally, making eighteen awards in total.
He added, “It’s been featured on many film festivals around the world and you know for a film festival, they have to choose you and for that, your content has to be good. The lead actor won an award for best actor in the German film awards. The big deal about that is he is the first black man ever in Germany to win that and it was because of the movie ‘Borga”.
The actor cum tailor assured that ‘Borga’ is a one of a kind movie that everyone must endeavor to watch because they will never know how great the movie is until they have watched it.
