Hiplife Grandpapa and Ghanaian Entrepreneur, Reggie Rockstone has disclosed that, COVID-19 really helped his business boom.
According to him, although the pandemic caused a lot of damages, it in many ways also had a positive impact on his business.
He revealed that, It was as a results of Covid that he started to deliver goods and services at the door steps of his customers.
Talking to Princess AJ on Y107.9FM’s Y Leaderboard Series, he shared, “We were selling the food in our club so people would come there to buy and those who knew about it came to buy but, there was also a whole bunch of Ghanaians who didn’t know I was selling waakye.”
He noted that, the young ones thought he had just started selling waakye because Shatta mentioned it.
“So those who laughed at me had no idea I was selling waakye for about three years before it was mentioned publicly,” he said.
Reggie stated that it was during the pandemic he realized he had to be smart to take advantage of the situation.
“Because at the time, deliveries were the thing and nobody wanted to die but we wanted to eat. So all the folks who had eaten my waakye before became the immediate customers for delivery and that just blew up and the jar came along. That also got bigger with all the controversies that came with it,” he emphasized.
He furthered that, during that period, sales shot up and it has been so ever since.
“I had folks fly out of town just to come have interviews about the waakye and all this happened during the Covid period,” he added.
