Ghanaian actor, Adjetey Anang, popularly known as ‘Pusher’ has advised the youth to hone their skills and talents.
According to him, it is important to blend talent and the right training to become perfect or the best in one’s field.
In an exclusive interview with Rev. Erskine on Y107.9FM’s YLeaderboard Series, he said, “It is very essential because we come in raw. We have gifts and talents that are raw hence, certainly not enough because they have to be refined. One of the ways that we can have it refined is through education and training.”
He believes the youth need to know their craft well and through the right channels, as that is the only way to get to them where they want to be.
“That is why when you are a miner out there and you find gold, you know that gold is not gold until it meets fire. And for that to happen, it has to go through processes of refinement then it becomes rich and what we can practically use and it is the same with us,” he explained.
The actor believes that to get to the top, one needs to go through the process of training as “it gives us variety, relevance and consistently and it’s timeless as well.”
Not disputing the fact that one can rely on talent, something people have actually done and had it work for them, he however indicated that that limits one’s potential.
“Therefore you need that skill and that training to be able to wow us, and give us something we have not seen before in order to be relevant to the changes and times, so that you’re not caught in a particular generation or space alone. But remain relevant to society even as change happens,” he stated.
