Two-factor authentication on Facebook has just got easier, as the company improves the security feature in two ways.
Two-factor authentication is a standard way to secure your online account on most platforms further. But the process of setting it up can be a bit complicated and… a bit daunting. So, Facebook has just made it easier to set up in two ways:
First is the new streamlined setup flow for two-factor authentication that guides users through the process and makes it simple for anyone. The second is the ability to set up two-factor authentication without the use of a phone number.
Facebook previously required a phone number to set up the feature, but now it has redesigned it so that users can easily use third-party authentication apps like Google Authenticator and Duo Security on desktop and mobile. The use of a phone number is no longer mandatory. If you want to run on two-factor authentication, you can visit facebook.com/settings, and click on the “Security and Login” tab.
