Africa’s first Professor Extraordinaire and Board Chairman of the Public Procurement Authority Professor Douglas Boateng has shared a list of some achievements he will like people especially the youth to recognize him for.
He told Rev Erskine on Y 107.9 FM’s Y Leaderboard Series, “I would like to be remembered for helping to create in my lifetime at least 10 billionaires using our resources some of which should be women”.
The Professor, being one who believes in the youth especially women is also very passionate about motivating and pushing them to be the best version of themselves.
He mentioned, “For me, I believe if more women are empowered, most of our challenges will disappear”.
He also revealed that he would also like to be remembered for helping to reduce the number of street children in the country.
“Anytime I drive around and I see street kids, then I reflect, I see and know the resources that we have, for me it doesn’t make sense” he shared.
He went on to say that this is another reason why he is passionate about ‘the beyond aid agenda’ because he believes that as a country we have so much and yet citizens still do not benefit from all we have and in his own way he wishes to make every Ghanaian benefit from our resources.
Prof believes that in his own little way, “if I’m able to help the government to industrialize and help take people off the street, to help bring the Ghanaian pride back and not throw plastic in the gutter and on the street then I think I have done my part”.
