Black Stars midfielder cum artiste Joseph Paintsil, has revealed that he has been a lover of music since his infancy and a singer as well.
The former Tema Youth forward who has now ventured into music made these revelations in a recent interview he granted on Y 107.9 FM during his visit to Ghana.
Joseph, after the release of his “Make You Sing” single joined the likes of Asamoah Gyan and Kevin Prince Boateng as players who also produced music during their active football careers.
In the interview, Joseph mentioned that he used to sing in church when he was younger and in school as well, he also mentioned that he comes from a family of singers, for that matter his singing talent run through his family.
“I have been a lover of music since childhood, I used to sing in school and in church as well. Also, my mum is a singer and I have a brother who is also a gospel genius called Charles Painstil, so its music is something that runs in my family as well as football”, he said to Winston Michaels and Naa Dzama on the ‘Shouts On Y’ show.
Speaking to whether he was going to feature any Ghanaian artistes, the spectacular midfielder retorted that he had reached out to some and was looking forward to working with others as well.
“I will love to collaborate with some Ghanaian artistes also, I have a song I will love to have Medikal on that song. I have reached out to him but he is yet to respond so we start working and I will like to work with Kuami Eugene as well”, he said.
Joseph further encouraged music enthusiasts to expect more music from him.
Paintsil currently holds the record as the most expensive player signed from the Ghanaian transfer market by a foreign club.
In the just-ended season in the Belgium top-flight league, he made 28 appearances and scored three goals with two assists.
He was part of the Black Stars team that qualified for the 2022 World Cup.
