Engineer and Founder of one of the leading private universities in Ghana, Ashesi has opened up about leaving what he loved best, being an engineer at Microsoft to run a school.
According to Patrick Awuah Jnr, he has never regretted for a moment his decison.
He made this disclosure in an interview on Y107.9FM’s Y LeaderBoard Series with Rev Erskine on the ‘Myd Morning Show’. “There are times when I look back at what is happening now in engineering and I wonder if I should go back but I also look at how things are going with Ashesi and I have no regrets”
To him, education is also as important as engeering and he has given his all to his new found love ever since the establishment of Ashesi.
He indicated that he is really happy with the development of the engineering faculty of Ashesi and the impact lecturers of the faculty are having on students. “I can say the people in the Engineering Faculty are doing real good and know more than I currently do in engineering.”
The educator who had practiced engineering for over 8 years with Microsoft left the technological giant and established Ashesi University in 2002.
