King Promise’s best effort to date has songs from Headie One and WSTRN (UK), Frenna (Amsterdam), Chance The Rapper and Vic Mensa (USA), Omah Lay and Patoranking (Nigeria), and Bisa Kdei, living up to his status as Ghana’s cultural connection throughout the diaspora globe (Ghana).
King Promise’s mellow yet danceable fusion of Afrobeats, Highlife, and R&B has drawn the attention of important music tastemakers since the release of the first single “Slow Down” last year and subsequent tracks “Bad ‘N’ Rude ft. WSTRN”, “Chop Life ft. Patronaking”, “Ring My Line ft. Headie One”, and most recently “Ginger”.
The album’s lead single, “Ten Toes,” will be released alongside a music video for the song that was shot in Amsterdam and features Promise and Omah Lay driving around in a BMW convertible. The video will be released alongside the album and will show off the five-star lifestyle of this international artist in a fast-paced manner.
One of the most intriguing African artists to emerge from the continent this year is Promise, who is quickly establishing himself.
King Promise is a bit of a hidden gem outside of West Africa with his enticing characteristic crooner lyrics and palpably warm and danceable energy. This year, he has given performances at Oh My Festival and Afronation, and he still has plans to go on tour shortly.
