Nana Akua Ankomah-Asare, the Managing Director for PrimeTime Company Limited, organizers of the National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) says one important lesson motherhood has taught her is the need to take care of herself before anything else.
Explaining further, she told Rev. Erskine on the Y leaderboard Series: “The first lesson motherhood taught me was that you have to take care of yourself. This is because you can’t give when you don’t have it. You would break down because mummy never gets a holiday. So, if you will be giving energy or strength to somebody, you must have some of it yourself before you can give out. If you don’t take good care of yourself or your health then you are not going to be there for them”.
For her, she believes that the only way to achieve this is to keep learning as a mother. She thus shared that she is “a work in progress” and as such she is working on trying to take care of herself.
Meanwhile, Nana Akua Ankomah-Asare has disclosed that she is a mother of two with the eldest being six years and the youngest being four years.
She shares that even with her busy schedule as a Managing Director, she tries to give the needed attention to her children.
